Try mobiQode FreemobiQode and Wave Connect are two digital business card tools that use QR codes to make networking easier. They both have things in common, like customization and analytics, but the differences are important.
Both platforms make it easier to share contacts. Let’s talk about both of them in detail so we can figure out which one will help your business more.
What is MobiQode?
mobiQode is a QR code and digital business card platform built for paperless networking. It lets you create a personal or company-branded digital card with a custom landing page linked to a dynamic QR code.
You can then share your details instantly, and even allow others to share theirs with you. The platform also offers multi-link pages, analytics, and QR campaign tracking. Wth mobiQode you can:
1- Set up your card in minutes
2- Share your QR code for someone to scan it
3- Instantly view who engaged, from which device, and where

What is Wave Connect?
Wave Connect is a web and app-based digital business card platform offering card layouts, QR/NFC sharing, and tools for managing teams. It comes with a lead capture form that easily saves contact info of other people, and the reporting helps understand how many times your contact was scanned. But people have often said that the app doesn’t work right and needs Bluetooth to be turned on and off to work.
We personally experienced that the app adds an extra step by asking for the other person’s name and number instead of auto-saving contacts like MobiQode. While this feature helps save others’ contacts, it makes it harder for leads to save yours first, as many could also feel the process has too many clicks to exchange or save contact info.

Ease of use
Ease of use seems to be a major concern among users working with Wave Connect. While we were able to create a business card easily, it did come with issues like lagging UI and forceful download prompts.

It comes with several sharing options like via SMS, email, and QR. Each code generated comes with Wave Connect’s branding, unlike Mobiqode, which lets you brand the QR code as per your business needs. Some users also complained that if people don’t sign up, they can’t access their contact details.

Using mobiQode is far simpler and more straightforward compared to Wave Connect. It doesn’t come with any forced app download prompts and doesn’t require users to install the app to access or share cards. If you create a digital business card on the web, you can directly share it via phone, email, or social media. Similarly, if you design it on the app, it can be shared instantly without needing to sync with the web version.
The platform also provides an unbranded QR code, allowing you to fully customize your card from scratch. Everything can be managed easily from a single dashboard, and the QR code itself comes with flexible customization options, unlike Wave Connect.
Features compared
Dynamic vs static QR codes
Both platforms come with dynamic QR codes, but you can only create 1 with Wave Connect on the trial plan, whereas you can create 2 with Mobiqode. You can update information linked to a dynamic QR code without reprinting or regenerating it. With Wave Connect, while dynamic QR code support exists, users struggled with creating multiple profiles under the free tier and reported friction.
Customization options
Wave Connect provides customization features like photo, bio, background, layout, and text, but most customization features (even colors and fonts) are locked behind a subscription for free users. There’s little scope to make your contact’s landing page truly yours or aligned with your business’s brand colors. When we created our digital business card, the QR code generated was not customizable either.

Mobiqode, on the other hand, offers end-to-end customization for both your digital business card and its QR code. You can add custom fields, include a lead capture form, and personalize text, colors, and photos to match your brand identity. It even allows you to change the QR code’s pattern and eye style, as well as add your company logo directly to the code.

Lead capture and follow-up emails
Wave Connect includes a lead capture form that lets you collect details like phone number and email, and even enables follow-up emails—similar to Mobiqode. However, it doesn’t let you choose the interaction flow, so you can’t really choose if your users will see your contact first or share theirs.

Mobiqode, on the other hand, gives you complete flexibility with its lead generation form. You can customize every field (from name and phone to job title, email, company, and message) and choose how interactions start, whether you want to collect leads first or share your details first. It also offers automated follow-up emails sent directly from your email address and includes password protection to keep your form secure.

Analytics and reporting
Wave Connect only gives you basic analytics like clicks and downloads. The data is also not very dependable, as we scanned and viewed the contact 4 times, but the report only showed 2 views.

mobiQode is way more accurate in its reporting and goes deeper, offering analytics on scan types, device usage, locations, and repeat interactions.

Bulk and printing options
Bulk printing on Wave Connect is not available in the free trial or lower-tier plans, as it is on MobiQode. You have to subscribe to a Team plan and pay more to get this feature on Wave Connect. On the other hand, mobiQode makes bulk generation of QR codes and cards.
Pricing and value for money
Wave Connect’s pricing starts at $7/month (if billed yearly, and $9/month when billed monthly), with basic features like customizations and no scan limits. For advanced features like centralized content management, bulk edit, and custom templates, you’ve to scale up to the Teams plan, which costs $5/user/month with a minimum of 3 users.

However, mobiQode is more affordable and starts at a much lower cost ($3/month) with more features like advanced analytics, stronger customisation, and ad-free QR code generation. Even its highest costing plan at $15/month is lower than Wave Connect and offers more features like password protection, bulk creation, configurable URL, and more.

Customer support
You can reach out to Wave Connect’s support team by raising a ticket on their website. However, some Wave Connect users have said that they don’t get responses right away. In contrast, mobiQode users often talk about how helpful and responsive the support team is, which makes onboarding go more smoothly, problems get fixed faster, and customization easier. They’re available 24/7 via email and live chat.
What customers are saying
“I love how customizable the profiles are; they look polished and professional with very little effort. But the user experience feels clunky, with too many steps to save a contact, which makes it harder to turn interactions into leads.” – G2 Reviewer
“I love MobiQode’s analytics feature, which gives clear insights into scan numbers and locations, saving time and effort. The customizable QR code generator is another favorite, offering great design flexibility at a low cost.” – G2 Reviewer
Final verdict: which one should you choose?
If you’re an individual who just wants a single digital business card and doesn’t need advanced features or bulk deployment, Wave Connect is okay. But if you’re a marketer, SMB, event organiser, or organisation, you should choose mobiQode as it offers multiple cards or team roll-out, strong brand identity, and full customisation, two-way lead capture with minimal friction, deeper analytics to measure engagement, and a lot more!
