App Required

While both mobiQode and Blinq help you create and share them, the way they do it sets them miles apart.

Blinq requires users to download its app before they can even access or download their contact QR code card. It’s an extra step that slows things down. mobiQode, meanwhile, keeps it simple. You can create, customize, and share your digital card right from your browser, no app required. Let’s break down how the two compare and which one is better for your business.

What is mobiQode?

mobiQode is a digital business card platform that lets you share contacts via dynamic QR codes and mobile-friendly landing pages. With mobiQode you can:

  • Create a personal or company-branded digital card
  • Automatically get a link to the custom QR code landing page, so you can update info without reprinting
  • Share instantly and allow recipients to send their info back, making it a two-way tool for leads

Within the mobiQode ecosystem, you’ll find multi-URL pages, built-in analytics (tracking scans, devices, repeat visits), and QR campaigns suited for printing or event usage. It removes the friction of downloading apps and keeps the sharing experience straightforward.

What is Blinq?

Blinq is another digital business card platform that is both app-based and web-based. It creates digital cards within minutes and enables users to share them as NFC cards or QR codes. However, some users have shared that recipients need extra steps (or need to download the Blinq app forcefully) to view your details properly. Also, advanced customization and analytics are mostly available only with paid plans.

Ease of use

Blinq has a quick setup process with an easy-to-navigate interface. We tried and were able to create a card in minutes. However, on the downside, we weren’t able to download or share it without specifically downloading the app, which doesn’t happen with mobiQode.

Some other recipients have also reported having to enter their details or download the app when you share your card, adding friction and potential lost connections.

mobiQode’s creation and sharing flow is more seamless: all you have to do is create an account, choose a digital business card and add all your info in the custom fields. mobiQode then generates a QR code, which can also be customized (a feature not available with Blinq). Then, when you scan the QR or use a link, a card appears instantly, without needing extra steps for the recipient. That means fewer lost opportunities.

Key features compared

Dynamic vs static QR codes

Both platforms support dynamic business card sharing via QR codes. However, free and lower-tier plans on Blinq limit the number of cards, only 2 and 5, respectively.

With mobiQode, you get access to 2 fully customizable dynamic business cards in the free trial. Its lower plans offer up to 100 digital business cards. Both platforms offer unlimited static QR codes.

Customization and design flexibility

Blinq gives an option to create a virtual background for the card and other customization features like choosing a color theme and adding social links. Advanced features like adding a company logo are hidden behind a paywall. However, some users mention limitations, especially on lower plans, such as fewer templates, locked features, or less layout control.

mobiQode, on the other hand, gives more design freedom: you control colours, fonts, templates, custom fields, and even how the QR is styled. You can also add as many as 33 social links to your card with either your photo or the company logo, and design the entire color theme of the landing page based on your preference.

Lead capture and interactivity

Blinq offers a lead capture form that collects basic details like name, email, and phone number, but this feature is only available on its Enterprise plan. For smaller teams or individual users, that means missing out on a key networking tool. We couldn’t locate the function in the trial plan to be even able to see what custom fields it offers, unlike mobiQode which offers a thorough understanding of what all can be done in the lead capture form.

mobiQode, however, makes lead capture accessible to everyone. You can customize and edit fields such as name, phone, job title, email, company, and message, and even choose how you want to engage—collect info first or share your card first. It also includes automated follow-up emails sent directly from your email address and offers password protection.

Analytics and reporting

We could not find even basic analytics and reporting on Blinq after generating our business card’s QR code. The option was nowhere to be found on the dashboard. However, mobiQode focuses on analytics as a core feature, even in the trial and lower plans, as it offers device-type, geolocation, repeat vs new, etc.

Bulk and printing options

For team use or events, you’ll likely need many cards. Blinq does support bulk printing and team management, but mostly in business/enterprise tiers. mobiQode allows printing bulk card creation early on (even in the free trial), making it convenient for startups or teams needing many cards right away.

Pricing and transparency

Blinq has a free option, and paid plans start at $9.99/month for individuals. However, when we compare the features offered with mobiQode, the latter offers more features like password protection, bulk creation, configurable URL, reporting and analytics, and more in plans that cost less than Blinq’s plans.

mobiQode positions itself as more affordable from the start, and starts at $3/month. You get more built-in features without jumping to high plans, with 100% ad-free and dynamic QR codes.

Customer support

Blinq’s support team is available by creating a support ticket request on their website, but no other option to reach out is available. Some users report delays or vague/untruthful responses by the support team when issues (like NFC card malfunction or subscription cancellation) occur.

mobiQode users report fast, human-handed email responses and proactive help with real-use issues such as card layout or QR scanning problems. They’re available 24/7 via live chat and email.

What customers are saying

“I like that Blinq is completely digital, no need to print or carry business cards, just open my phone and let others scan the QR code. However, the web app doesn’t keep the screen active during presentations, which makes it inconvenient to use without constantly touching the screen.” G2 Reviewer

“I love how mobiQode makes it easy to make a lot of customizable QR codes in different colors that make my products look better and link to more information online.”  – G2 Reviewer

Final verdict: which one should you choose?

Blinq is a good choice for a single digital business card if you’re just an individual who doesn’t need advanced analytics or need to handle a large team. However, if you’re a team, marketer, or business looking for a web-based platform with strong branding control, dynamic QR codes, print-friendly workflows, bulk card creation, and analytics built in, then mobiQode is likely a better fit.
